Job summary

University Health is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health Inpatient unit on a PRN basis at UH Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. You will provide patient-centered nursing care to individuals with acute, chronic, or complex behavioral health needs.

The role requires assessing patients, planning and delivering care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, mentoring students, and contributing to program evaluations and education.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current state license as a Registered Nurse in Missouri.
• Current BCLS certification.
• For PRN: at least one year of medical/surgical experience or experience in the specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients based on their diagnosis and care needs.
• Plan, perform, delegate, and evaluate nursing care using your expert skills.
• Work closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the best patient outcomes.
• Participate in committees, program evaluations, research, and education.
• Supervise and mentor students.
• Stay compliant with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and all organizational and regulatory requirements.
