Job summary

Mars Incorporated is seeking a Shift Coverage Technician for the Royal Canin site in North Sioux City, SD. The role covers night shifts (5:30pm–6:00am) and supports safe, reliable plant operation through preventive maintenance and rapid response to equipment issues.

You will work with Operations, Maintenance, E&I, and AMTs, documenting activities in eMaint and following site safety procedures. Training and career growth are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent industrial maintenance training.
• Previous industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical and industrial electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment failures and identify root causes.
• Diagnose and repair motors, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, valves, sensors.
• Safely troubleshoot electrical systems including 480 VAC and 24 VDC within training.
• Respond to production equipment breakdowns and return equipment to service.
• Complete scheduled PMs and corrective work for the shift.
• Document troubleshooting, repairs, findings, parts used, and work in eMaint.
• Communicate equipment status and follow-up needs during shift handover.
