Job summary

H.B. Fuller in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep plant operations safe and reliable.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and facility systems, reporting to the Facility Engineer and coordinating with production and quality teams to reduce downtime and improve equipment performance. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years of maintenance experience, and the ability to read schematics and use CMMS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five or more years of combined technical training and maintenance experience.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including basic PLC diagnostics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance systems.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and Lockout/Tagout requirements.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, pumps, mixers, and production systems.
• Use the CMMS to plan and complete preventive maintenance tasks.
• Complete accurate maintenance, repair, and purchasing documentation.
• Operate forklifts and lifts after required training and certification.
• Install new or upgraded equipment within defined skill scope.
• Train and support maintenance mechanics and helpers as assigned.
