Job summary

Union General Health System is seeking a dedicated Security Officer for the Night Shift at Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee, GA, with potential duties at Union General Hospital and cross-facility travel.

The role focuses on interior and exterior patrols, access control, incident response, and maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Prior law enforcement or military experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrols the interior of the hospital facility on foot and the exterior of the buildings and all campus property in a security vehicle or by foot.
• Maintains surveillance and observation for criminal activities, lost/missing patients, incidents and areas where security is needed or assistance is required and generally ensures the overall safety of visitors, staff, employees and others who visit Union General Hospital and Chatuge Regional Hospital.
• Enforces and ensures compliance with existing hospital policies, rules and requirements. Directs traffic as required and maintains order at all public gatherings and disaster/critical incidents.
• Performs all related work as assigned by the Public Safety Director or a Union General Hospital Executive, Chatuge Regional Executive, and/or Administrator that may not be included in the job description.
