Job summary

National Jewish Health is seeking a Hospital Protective Services Officer for the night shift. The role provides visible security, patrols, access control, emergency response, and exceptional customer service for patients, visitors, staff, and assets.

Officers intervene to reduce risk, use de-escalation techniques, and may deploy less-lethal tools as permitted. Responsibilities include SOC operations, reporting, and escorting staff and visitors across campus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 4 years of security experience in a professional environment; healthcare/institutional setting preferred.
• Military or law enforcement background strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital grounds and facilities to deter unauthorized access and respond to incidents.
• Identify risks and implement protective actions following policy and standards.
• Use de-escalation techniques and, when needed, less-lethal tools (Taser) in line with policy.
• Monitor Security Operations Center (SOC), surveillance, access control, and communications.
• Provide safe escort services and wayfinding assistance to staff, patients, and visitors.
• Document incidents and observations per policy and chain of command.
