Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a night shift housekeeper to support patient-centered care by disinfecting and sanitizing hospital areas. The role involves following infection control guidelines, handling wastes, linens, and maintaining clean, safe spaces across the facility.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, can read and write fluent English, and is physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Prior housekeeping experience is preferred and EPIC software familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Disinfects/sanitizes assigned work area using proper equipment.
• Removes waste, linen, recycling, some equipment, and sharps containers.
• Cleans assigned area(s) following the daily duty sheet.
• Vacuums assigned area(s), uses and maintains equipment properly and safely.
• Reports needed repairs or safety related items immediately to appropriate level of management.
• Cross trains in multiple areas and helps out in other areas as assigned.
