Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital Environmental Services role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff. You will support hospital operations by ensuring areas meet cleanliness and safety standards.

The position requires a 11PM-7:30AM shift Monday to Friday and every other weekend/holidays, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus offered within the first 6 months. A comprehensive benefits package is provided, including insurance and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand written instructions in English.
• Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, and comparing numbers and letters.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform hard floor care including dusting and damp mopping
• Provide carpet and furniture care including vacuuming, spot removal, and shampooing
• Collect and dispose of trash, soiled linens, and recyclable materials, and replace liners
• Clean and maintain horizontal and vertical surfaces such as vents, light fixtures, windows, and doors
• Clean restrooms, including fixtures, and replenish supplies Maintain assigned areas including stairwells, elevators, furniture, equipment, and patient care items
• Change curtains, draperies, blinds, and shades as needed
• Operate electric and battery-powered cleaning equipment and assist with moving furniture or equipment
• Pick up supplies, handle regulated medical waste, and respond to spills or emergencies while using proper protective equipment
• Clean and remake beds, stretchers, and exam tables
