Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking staff for the Nursing Resource Pool at Troy Hospital. This role supports ICU, progressive-care, and med-surgical units, providing care under RN supervision and assisting with constant observation when needed. Orientation is provided, with a night shift schedule and a 7 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

work window. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, prior hospital or nursing home experience preferred, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire.
• Current CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
• Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize safety.
• Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
• Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Current CNA certification preferred

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred
