Job summary

Georgetown University Hospital is seeking a Histology Technician to prepare routine H&E and special stains for microscopic diagnosis and assist in surgical pathology grossing. You will participate in general lab maintenance and ensure compliance with safety and privacy standards.

The role requires 1–2 years histology experience and a MLS bachelor’s degree with ASCP HTL preferred. On-site shift and hospital laboratory teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or closely related field.
• ASCP HTL certification preferred.
• 1–2 years histology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare routine H&E and special stains for microscopic diagnosis.
• Assist in surgical pathology grossing and lab maintenance.
• Perform embedding, sectioning, staining, coverslipping and labeling.
• Maintain quality control and document regulatory compliance.
• Ensure patient data privacy and safety standards are followed.
