Job summary

Fisher Barton in Watertown, Wisconsin is seeking a Heavy Press Operator for the 3rd shift. You will set up and operate heavy presses, blanking, forming, and related secondary operations, following work orders, blueprints, or templates.

The role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and precision. You will install dies, align tools, perform basic milling and packing, and help with tool room inspections as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years press setup, operation, and manufacturing experience.
• Basic math skills to analyze information and measurements.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, or customer drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up presses and install specified dies using gauges and hand tools.
• Align dies in presses according to specifications using feelers, shims, templates, bolts, clamps and wrenches.
• Operate presses to perform blanking, forming, cutting or piercing operations and related secondary tasks.
• Assist in tool room with die inspection when required after job completion.
• Record piecework and monitor steel usage during production.
• Perform manual milling and ensure beveled edges meet customer specs.
• Adjust oven temperatures for Fuse/Anneal processes and verify sheet requirements.
• Operate shot and grit blast machines and select appropriate media.
• Ensure parts are properly oiled and finished before leaving the cell.
• Check product quality and notify supervisor of process issues.
