Job summary

Bell and Evans in Fredericksburg, PA seeks a Hatchery Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift. Must lift up to 50 pounds and work weekends with rotation.

High school diploma or GED with related experience preferred. Responsibilities include diagnosing equipment issues, disassembling and repairing parts, and initiating parts orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Good reading and writing skills; able to communicate with coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Examines parts' form and texture to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts; installs parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test performance.
• Operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools.
• Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
