Job summary

  • LOCATION: Newport Naval Station Newport, RI
  • SHIFT: 6:00pm - 2:30am
  • SITE: Newport Naval Station Commissary (Grocery Store)

Are you an enthusiastic and proactive leader who thrives in fast-paced environments? CW Resources is seeking an ambitious 3rd Shift Commissary Operational/Project Supervisor who is ready to roll up their sleeves and take charge! In this hands-on role, you will manage and supervise a dedicated team and actively participate in daily operations to meet high standards.

What You'll Do:
  1. Lead a Dedicated Team: Supervise and support individuals with disabilities, ensuring exceptional service in a military grocery store.
  2. Hands-On Leadership: Perform manual labor such as moving products, setting up displays, or handling equipment alongside your team.
  3. Operational Efficiency: Ensure smooth store operations, including lifting, bending, pulling, and meeting deadlines.
  4. Team Development: Recruit, train, and supervise staff, providing tools for excellent service and efficiency.
  5. Flexible Hours & Problem-Solving: Adapt to changing schedules and resolve operational challenges.
  6. Payroll & Attendance: Maintain attendance records, ensure payroll accuracy, and handle adjustments.
  7. Store & Warehouse Organization: Oversee cleanliness, inventory, and product organization.
  8. Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols, uphold food safety standards, and ensure confidentiality and security.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years' supervisory or team lead experience (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in grocery or warehouse roles (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience in managing operations, scheduling, and team performance
  • Familiarity with Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel (preferred)
  • Strong commitment to service and quality standards
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members
Physical and Environmental Demands:
  • Physical tasks include lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Work primarily in a military base environment, with exposure to cooler and warmer temperatures, and warehouse areas.
  • Potential exposure to cleaning chemicals.
