Job summary

Kroger in Washington state is seeking a customer-focused associate to deliver outstanding service in a fast-paced retail environment. You will help customers, answer questions, and ensure product freshness while upholding food safety and safety procedures.

Responsibilities include assisting the department manager to meet sales goals, stocking shelves, and maintaining a welcoming, respectful atmosphere for shoppers. Prior retail experience and bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions about products in the department and store
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products in the department and respond to questions or suggest products
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of specials
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and provide customers with fresh products
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Display a positive attitude
• Stay current with ads and promotions (present, future, seasonal, special)
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions
• Inspect equipment and report items needing repair
• Notify management of accidents or safety risks
• Report any safety risks, issues, or illegal activity, including theft or fraud
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
