Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.

• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions, making suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items and inform customers of specials.
• Check product quality for freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and ensure fresh products.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
