Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred.
• Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
• Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety and prioritize safe operations at all times.
• Repair and maintain plant equipment including crushers and conveyors.
• Repair and maintain mobile equipment (loaders, skid steers) and perform PM services.
• Inspect equipment and structures to ensure safe, reliable operations.
• Monitor plant processes and materials for safety and compliance.
• Document maintenance and lubrication reports for preventative care.
• Perform general physical activities to support plant operations.
• Assist in railcar unloading and related tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment. Perform repairs and maintenance throughout the plant including screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear parts replacement, crusher liner changes, and water pump service. Perform cutting, grinding, and welding as needed. Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment. Perform minor repairs to front end wheel loaders and skid steers including hydraulic hoses, bucket cutting edges, and other miscellaneous repairs to maintain safe operation. Perform PM services on mobile equipment on a scheduled basis including lube services and sampling. Inspect Equipment and Structures. Perform daily inspections and maintenance of the plant equipment in order to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions. Monitor Processes and Materials. Monitor and review the plant, specifically various aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas to identify problems and ensure safety and materials compliance. Document and Record Information. Enter and maintain service and lubrication reports regarding the plant equipment used to ensure preventative maintenance is up to date. Perform General Physical Activities. Perform a variety of tasks that assist with the operation of the plant, including cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials. Railcar Unloading: Assist in the rail unloading process as needed, including operating the rail car mover, operating air actuated gates, monitoring unloading equipment and setting rail car handbrakes. Hourly Range. The hourly range for this role is between $26.00 and $38.60 . This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package.
