Job summary

Hampton City Schools is seeking a Floor Technician for the night shift. The role is 12 months, 8 hours per day, night shift, full-time, with a salary range of $16.20–$26.82 per hour.

Responsibilities include cleaning and refurbishing floors across school facilities, using specialized equipment, shampooing carpets, moving furniture, and maintaining logs and inventory. Requires a high school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of floor care methods, materials and equipment used in custodial floor care work.
• Ability to measure, handle and label chemicals correctly.
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Performs all types of floor care and maintenance throughout buildings, including hard surfaces and carpeting.
• Uses specialized equipment and chemicals to clean, strip, repair and refinish floors.
• Shampoos and steam cleans carpets and rugs.
• Moves furniture and equipment before and after cleaning; vacuums, sweeps and mops.
• Cleans and maintains floor cleaning equipment; maintains logs for floor maintenance.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment; notifies supervisor of needed work orders.
