Job summary

ABM Industries in North Austin is seeking a reliable cleaner to maintain carpet and hard surface floors in a Monday–Friday evening shift. Pay ranges from $17 to $20 per hour, with weekly pay dependent on experience.

The role requires no formal education and offers on-the-job training, with a path for those entering the workforce or returning after a break. Responsibilities include cleaning facilities, following chemical and equipment procedures, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must meet ATS environment approval requirements, including ten-year work history if available.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Preferred: customer service experience.
• Preferred: 1 year of similar work experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain buildings/facilities.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
• Notify Manager about minor or major repairs or additions.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers.
• Comply with safety, security, and quality standards set by ABM and authorities.
• Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, floors, ceilings, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Move cabinets, boxes, and equipment to access cleaning areas.
• Clean interior glass, windows, and mirrors with cleaners and squeegees.
• Wash and replace blinds and gather/empty trash.
• Sweep, rake leaves, remove snow, or perform seasonal tasks.
• Wipe tables, chairs, and equipment in food areas; service restrooms.
