Job summary

MAC Incorporated in Paw Paw, MI is seeking a talented Facilities Maintenance Mechanic for our large manufacturing plant. This union shop primarily operates on a night shift (7 PM–7 AM) with a pay rate of $33.84 per hour and shift differentials of $.75 or $1.50 depending on the hours worked.

The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of facility equipment, utilities, and support systems in a high-temperature industrial setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial facilities maintenance experience.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration strongly preferred.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, welding, and machine tools preferred.
• Experience with water and wastewater treatment systems preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and proactive maintenance on facility and utility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment to minimize manufacturing downtime.
• Use root cause analysis to identify equipment failures and recurring problems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using voltmeters and other testing equipment.
• Test repaired equipment to verify proper and safe operation.
• Inspect machinery and facility equipment for operational and safety compliance.
• Perform equipment installations, repairs, and facility improvement projects.
• Complete required maintenance documentation and work orders.
• Work with Production and other departments to coordinate repairs and minimize downtime.
• Support facility food safety and food quality programs.
• Respond to utility and ammonia-related alarms as required.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintenance standards.
