Job summary

Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, located in Maize, Kansas, is looking for an Extrusion Operator to join our manufacturing team. The position involves running extrusion machines, packing and moving pipe to storage, and maintaining 5S housekeeping.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work 12 hour, night shift.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Submit to and successfully complete background check and pre-employment drug test.
• Computer and mechanical ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Starting up extruder, monitoring material flow, making adjustments to extruder and downstream equipment as needed.
• Inspecting and identifying poor quality pipe using micrometer, pie tape, etc.
• Packing pipe per standards with strapping tool, weighing pipe and moving to designated storage area with forklift.
• Keeping work area up to 5S housekeeping standards including operating sweeper as necessary.
• Responsible for performing minor repairs on pipe racks, printers, etc.
• Assisting set-up instructor as necessary.
• Assisting Tool & Die and Maintenance personnel in repair of equipment.
