Job summary

OrthoNebraska is seeking an Extended Recovery RN to provide high-quality, patient-centered care for post-operative orthopedic patients during extended recovery and overnight hours in Omaha.

You will monitor vital signs, manage pain, assist with mobility, administer medications, and document care in EMR. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the care team to ensure safe discharge and optimal recovery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• RN license in Nebraska or eligible compact state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications or within 90 days of hire.
• 1+ year RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform post-operative nursing assessments and monitor vitals.
• Manage pain and assist with mobility and safe ambulation.
• Administer medications per protocols and IV therapy as needed.
• Provide wound care and monitor for infections and complications.
• Document care accurately in EMR and communicate with the care team.
• Onboard and train new nursing staff; ensure safety and HIPAA compliance.
