Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required.
• BSN required (per job requirements).
• BLS (AHA or Red Cross) required.
• ACLS required.

• NIHSS required.
• Strong critical thinking, time management, and ability to work under pressure in a high-volume ED.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based emergency nursing care aligned to standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
• Perform rapid assessments, identify patient needs, and prioritize care using the nursing process
• Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate individualized plans of care to achieve clinical outcomes
• Communicate and collaborate with physicians, nursing, and ancillary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Serve as a patient and family advocate while maintaining privacy, confidentiality, and data security
• Deliver patient/family education using appropriate teaching strategies and evaluate understanding
• Initiate discharge planning at point of contact and support safe transitions to the next level of care
• Perform point-of-care testing as required and complete accurate, timely clinical documentation
• Delegate appropriately to support safe, efficient patient flow and quality outcomes
• Participate in safety initiatives and quality improvement activities
