Job summary

CHRISTUS Children's is seeking a competent Registered Nurse to provide both routine and complex care in a similar clinical setting. The role emphasizes independent practice, long-range planning, and proactive contingency management within established nursing protocols.

The nurse will assign and delegate tasks to other care providers, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes and efficient care delivery in a 7PM-7AM shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• RN license in Texas or a compact state.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses the evolving psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors adverse effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers.
