Job summary

Armstrong Ambulance Service is seeking an Overnight EMT for Midnight - 8am openings in Arlington, MA. This part-time position offers EMT work across bases in Arlington and surrounding communities with IFT, 911, and detail shifts available.

Eligible candidates should hold MA EMT certification, BLS CPR, and a valid driver’s license. A strong union benefits package is included for full-time staff, with extensive safety protocols and patient-care responsibilities following state and company

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Certification as an EMT in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Certification in Basic Life Support CPR.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving history.
• Hazmat and MCI Management training prior to orientation.

Responsibilities

• Renders basic life support procedures to patients in various settings.
• Administers initial treatment at emergency scenes and records vital signs.
• Provides medical examination and screening per protocols.
• Assists in extricating victims and transports patients to treatment centers.
• Loads, secures, and transports patients safely.
• Observes and reports patient conditions to physicians.
• Coordinates patient care between Fire, Police, and staff.
• Operates ambulance and adheres to dispatch directions and safety rules.
• News reporting and communication with physicians via radio/phone.
• Maintains vehicle and equipment and completes required paperwork.
• Performs vehicle checks and ensures ambulances are stocked and clean.
• Uses PPE and safety equipment per law and policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

EMT Certification (Massachusetts)

Basic Life Support CPR

Valid motor vehicle operator license with satisfactory driving history

Hazmat, MCI Management (NIMS 100 & 700) training
