Job summary

Renown Health in Reno, NV is seeking an Emergency Medical Trauma Technician Basic to support day-to-day operations in the Emergency Department. The role includes technical and clerical duties, stocking equipment, and coordinating patient flow under supervision.

The incumbent will work within trauma guidelines, assist in various procedures, and ensure readiness of equipment for ED procedures, while maintaining performance competencies across age groups from neonatal to geriatric.

Qualifications

• Six months EMT experience preferred, or six months ED Technician experience, or completion of the Renown Emergency Medic Intern Program.
• Current State of Nevada and National Registry of EMT (NREMT) Basic certification is required upon hire. NREMT certification must be in ACTIVE status within 90 days of hire.
• Current BLS certification by American Heart Association standards required.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Responsibilities

• Support in ED operations as an Emergency Medical Trauma Technician Basic within established competencies.
• Stock the ED with required supplies, equipment, and instrumentation.
• Perform unit clerk duties: act as receptionist, coordinate schedules, use computer/phone, assist guests and patients.
• Collaborate with ED physician, RN, and other staff to provide safe patient care within scope of practice.
