Job summary

Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Emergency Medicine physician in Eureka, CA. The role offers a pay range of $260/hour to $285/hour for a 4-week assignment starting 10-08-26 in a float pool facility.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, stabilization of life-threatening conditions, and rapid decision-making in a fast-paced ED environment. California license active and in good standing is required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification in emergency, internal, or family medicine by ABEM/ABIM/ABFM/AOA.
• Active, unrestricted California medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and comprehensive medical care to patients with diverse emergencies in the ED.
• Perform history, exam, and diagnostic testing with thorough assessments.
• Stabilize life-threatening conditions and implement treatment plans.
• Conduct emergency procedures such as suturing, wound care, and splinting.
• Order and interpret tests (X-ray, CT, labs) to guide care decisions.
• Prescribe medications and manage pain appropriately.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Document care accurately in the medical record.
