Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Emergency Medicine physician in Fortuna, CA. The assignment runs for 13 weeks with shifts 08:00–16:00 and a 5‑day work week. Start date is 01-01-27.

Position: Physician in Emergency Medicine; facility type: Float Pool. Earn $235–$245 per hour with benefits and in-house credentialing support. Clinical duties include ED patient care, orders, procedures, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification in emergency, internal or family medicine.
• Active California medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and comprehensive medical care to ED patients.
• Conduct history, exam, and diagnostic testing for emergencies.
• Diagnose and stabilize life-threatening conditions.
• Develop and implement treatment plans for acute cases.
• Perform procedures such as suturing, wound care, and splinting.
• Order/interpret diagnostic tests to guide care.
• Prescribe medications and manage pain as needed.
• Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Document care accurately in the medical record.
