Job summary

State-of-South-Carolina is seeking a Dispatcher I to support smoke management, wildfires, law enforcement requests, and storm incidents. Under supervision, you will dispatch fire suppression personnel using CAD, two-way radio, and telephone, handling Coastal and Piedmont regions.

You must have a high school diploma, be able to type 35 WPM, basic computer skills, pass background and drug tests, and complete IS-700 within the first year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typing speed of at least 35 WPM with basic computer skills.
• Background check and drug/alcohol test required.
• Completion of IS-700 within first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and relay reports of fires, law enforcement needs, storms and other incidents.
• Dispatch personnel via CAD, radio and telephone; maintain records of deployments.
• Assume Coastal and Piedmont region dispatch responsibilities.
• Support agency mission and initiatives through daily task lists.
