Job summary

Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist for shared overnight coverage in the Emergency Department and hospital-wide clinical operations.

The role offers opportunities to impact patient care during critical situations while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and the pharmacy team. Ideal candidates have PGY1 residency or hospital pharmacy experience, strong clinical judgment, and excellent communication skills; licensure in Ohio is required.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy required.
• Licensure: Current Ohio pharmacist license.
• Experience: PGY1 or 3 years hospital/clinical experience preferred.
• Effective communication and collaborative skills.
• Ability to plan, organize and manage pharmaceutical care.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight ED coverage and support hospital-wide emergency response.
• Coordinate medication preparation, distribution, and dispensing per regulations.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, records, and non-formulary requests.
• Interpret and verify all medication orders; collaborate with multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in antibiotic stewardship, drug monitoring, and therapy optimization.
