Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Burlington, MA is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide personal care and support under RN supervision. This 36-hour night position includes three 12-hour shifts, with duties ranging from vital signs to basic clinical tasks.

You will contribute to patient comfort, safety and infection control while supporting daily living activities and nutrition needs. High school diploma and BLS are required, training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support/BLS required; new hires have 30 days to obtain BLS.
• Ability to read, write, perform basic four-function math, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients as delegated by the registered nurse and completes activities of daily living.
• Take and record vital signs and report unusual observations to the nurse.
• Collects specimens for analysis and monitors intake & output.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care of patients.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under supervision of a nurse.
• Support nutrition needs and assist with meal setup and feeding as required.
• Maintain safety and infection control practices across patient care.
• Assist as a sitter for patient safety as needed and participate in orientation of new colleagues.
• Perform other unit-based activities as assigned by the nurse or charge nurse.
