Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Electrical Operations Shift Technician in Austin, TX. The role focuses on isolating and switching power equipment, terminating wiring, and managing access permits while ensuring compliance with safety codes and standards.

The position requires 3+ years of licensed electrical experience in industrial settings, strong diagram-reading skills, and proficiency with test equipment. Shift is D shift, on-site, with some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• ≥ 3 years of licensed electrical experience in industrial or large commercial environments.
• Ability to read one line diagrams, electrical schematics, relay logic diagrams, wiring drawings, and construction plans.
• Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment (multimeters, megohmmeters, power quality analyzers).
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety practices (LOTO, arc flash NFPA 70E, safe switching in mission critical settings).
• Proficient with core Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Execute planned and unplanned equipment isolation by completing EDORs and performing complex switching.
• Terminate and re-terminate infrastructure wiring to support other departments per engineering standards.
• Fulfill operations scope work orders for building and equipment maintenance.
• Perform minor repair work orders to ensure compliance with codes and safety regs.
• Manage access by issuing escorted permits and conducting routine patrols in electrical rooms.
