Responsibilities

• Collects, labels, and transports patient specimens for testing in a timely manner.
• Performs venipuncture for routine and advanced collections.
• Adheres to patient identification protocols and universal precautions.
• Operates department computer systems to activate orders, manage tests, and document results.
• Trains and mentors new staff as directed.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
