Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Newton Wellesley Emergency Department is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our 40-hour per week night team. The PA will perform histories, physicals, orders, prescriptions, and leadership duties within a fast-paced ED.

The position requires a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant, current PA licensure, and prior ED experience. Onsite role with weekend and holiday coverage, competitive base pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree Physician Assistant required.
• Prior PA experience in an ED setting required.
• Experience as a licensed Physician Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting.
• Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes and discharge summaries.
• Bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
