Job summary

NexGen Data Systems in the United States is seeking a Third Shift Wide Area Network Engineer to support internal and external customers, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues across routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, DoD clearance, DoD 8570/8140 certifications, and readiness to work nights; the candidate must collaborate in a fast-paced team and communicate effectively while covering a 24x7 environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting a large network infrastructure.
• Strong working knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN devices.
• Solid TCP/IP understanding, routing, and subnetting.
• Experience with OSPF/BGP, ACLs, Layer 2 switching, Spanning Tree, and packet analysis.
• Must be a team player with good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to work third shift and cover a 24x7 environment.
• DoD 8570/8140 OS and Cybersecurity certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues with varied devices and protocols.
• Collaborate with team on troubleshooting, device configuration, and documentation.
• Interact with multiple customers daily to provide support and guidance.
