Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) in Cheshire, CT. The role involves loading/unloading high-pressure cylinders, inspecting for safety, and operating warehouse equipment on a 2nd shift (10:00 am–6:30 pm). Compensation is $22 per hour with a full benefits package.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and mechanical aptitude, with preferred SAP experience and proficiency in Google Suite/Microsoft Office. Safety and accuracy are paramount for this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations.
• A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cylinders on/off trucks in compliance with safety procedures.
• Inspect cylinders and ensure government, Airgas, and safety benchmarks are met.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of cylinders and quantities.
• Prepare cylinders for reuse by cleaning and relabeling as needed.
• Conduct basic maintenance and identify defective cylinders.
