Job summary

Lyons Elementary School District 103 is seeking a diligent Night Custodian to clean and maintain school facilities. The role coordinates with the Buildings & Grounds Director, school administrators, and staff to ensure a safe, clean environment for students and the community.

The Night Custodian works a full-time, 12-month schedule with shift hours from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM when school is in session, and different start times when not in session, performing cleaning, minor repairs, and safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year custodial experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to operate a computerized security system.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper cleaning procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and janitorial duties.
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance.
• Assist in cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and cafeterias.
• Maintain grounds including mowing and hedge trimming.
• Ensure heating and cooling systems are operational.
