Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a dedicated Critical Care Nurse for night shifts at East Jefferson General Hospital in Louisiana. You will lead care touchpoints, monitor life support, and educate patients and families while collaborating with the care team to ensure safety and exceptional experience.

Required: valid Louisiana nursing license, BLS, and ACLS within 6 months of hire. We value empathy, critical thinking, and compassionate care within our community.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana nursing license to practice as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead: prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for your patients.
• Evaluate vital signs and monitor life support measures.
• Apply knowledge of complex patient conditions including psycho/social needs.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients and families regarding significant events and questions.
• Prevent and treat wounds.
• Ensure infection control and environment of care requirements.
• Ensure continuity of care and an exceptional patient experience.
• Collaborate with nursing supervisor to identify and meet patient care needs.
• Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others when needed.

Education

Current Louisiana nursing license to practice

American Heart Association BLS certification

ACLS certification (within 6 months of hire)
