Job summary

Baptist Medical Center Downtown in Jacksonville seeks an experienced Critical Care Pharmacist to join our night-shift team. The pharmacist will verify orders for adult ED and four adult ICUs, provide essential clinical services, and operate independently within a small team.

The role requires inpatient clinical experience, a Florida pharmacist license, and ACLS/BLS. PGY1 residency and ED/ICU exposure are highly preferred as we prioritize patient safety and evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science required and Florida pharmacist license.
• Registered Pharmacist – State Board of Pharmacy.
• Licensed Pharmacist – DOH.
• ACLS and BLS certification required by AHA.
• PGY1 residency and ED/ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for critically ill and ED patients during overnight hours.
• Review, verify, and optimize medication orders for safe, effective pharmacotherapy.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team to develop patient-specific plans.
• Monitor responses and adjust therapy based on labs and guidelines.
• Provide pharmacokinetic monitoring for antimicrobials, anticoagulants, and critical care infusions.
• Support education for staff and maintain controlled substance management.
