Job summary

On-Board Engineering Corp. is hiring a Full-Time Construction Manager to be assigned to a client chemical manufacturing site in Richmond, VA.

You will plan construction projects and oversee progress from start to finish, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. Responsibilities include budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling while coordinating with stakeholders to meet timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of proven experience in construction management.
• Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
• Expert knowledge of construction details and local governance and quality standards.
• Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
• Familiarity with construction management software packages.
• Ability to plan and see the “big picture”.
• Leadership and human resources management skills.
• Excellent time and project management skills.
• BS degree in construction management (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Ability to utilize other software tools as appropriate SAP and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
• Perform constructability reviews and contribute to the Front End Loading (FEL) of the CapEx process
• Run RFP and bid clarification meetings
• Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
• Oversee all construction and monitor safety regulations
• Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
• Meet contractual conditions of performance
• Review the work progress on daily basis
• Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
• Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
• Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
• Ensure Client's quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
