Job summary

The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs - Michael J. Fitzmaurice South Dakota Veterans Home in Hot Springs, SD is hiring a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) for a full-time role.

The position offers $19.33 to $21.00 per hour, plus $5.00 per hour night-shift pay and $1.50 per hour weekend pay, with competitive benefits and a Class A retirement pathway. Ideal candidates will obtain SD CNA certification within four months of hire, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and demonstrate strong safety

Qualifications

• Must possess or be able to obtain a South Dakota Certified Nurse Aide certification within four months of hire date.
• Shift work including nights and weekends; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong English grammar, basic math, and resident safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic resident care and assist with day-to-day resident and household activities.
• Assist licensed health care personnel in routine medical care within a household-type environment.
• Document resident care and observe and report abnormal physical symptoms.
