Job summary

Avir at Alice in Alice, Texas is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the night shift to provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents. You will assist with daily living activities, transfers, mobility, vital signs, and basic needs while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Ideal candidates are listed on the Texas Nurse Aide Registry or will certify within four months, able to work independently, stay organized, and communicate with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be listed on the Texas Nurse Aide Registry, or become certified within four months of hire.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and remain calm under pressure.
• Patience, tact, and a positive attitude with residents, families, and staff.
• Comfort working with residents who are ill, disabled, elderly, or at times upset.
• Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday and safely assist with resident transfers.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and more
• Provide toileting assistance and turn and reposition residents as needed
• Answer call lights promptly and courteously to determine resident needs
• Assist residents with walking and transportation, using a gait belt for all transfers and ambulation
• Monitor vital signs, weights, and intake and output as directed
• Provide catheter care as required
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
