Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Shreveport, LA seeks a Nurse Assistant (CNA) to support patient care on the unit under RN supervision. You will assist with admissions/discharges, prepare rooms, transport patients, and maintain supplies while ensuring safety and confidentiality.

Ideal applicants have a high school diploma and CNA/BLS credentials; acute care experience is preferred. This full-time night shift position offers the opportunity to contribute to quality patient care in a team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalen­t preferred.
• Patient care experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
• CNA License in state of employment is required.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Completes pertinent documents.
• Prepares rooms for admission by setting up IV pots and adjusting the bed.
• Safely transports stable patients as required.
• Maintains security/confidentiality when transporting patients and interacting with family and visitors.
• Cleans, procures and returns equipment and supplies.
• Responds to phone calls and patient call lights.
• Identifies changes in patient condition and reports promptly to the nurse in charge.
