Job summary

Omega House in Michigan is seeking a Part-time Resident Care Aide (CNA) Med Passer to join our hospice‑focused team. The role supports residents with daily living activities, pain assessment, and safe transfers under supervision of the Clinical Supervisor.

Responsibilities include meals, light housekeeping, documentation, and coordination with hospice providers. Requires at least a high school diploma and Michigan CNA certification preferred, with CPR and confidentiality priorities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Michigan CNA certification preferred.
• 3-5 years’ experience in clinical or hospice settings recommended.
• Knowledge of hospice philosophy and principles.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Visual/hearing ability adequate for written/verbal communication.
• HIPAA compliance and confidentiality adherence.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as part of the direct care team.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, eating).
• Monitor residents’ pain and distress and report changes promptly.
• Assist with transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics.
• Prepare meals, perform light housekeeping and laundry.
• Coordinate with hospice providers and document care timely with supervisor.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and trainings.
• Greet visitors and manage incoming calls.
• Promote dignity and well‑being for residents and families.
• Apply universal precautions and basic infection control.
• Assist with fundraising activities and events as needed.
• Recognize emergencies and follow procedures.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and safety.
