Job summary

Heritage Inn Health in Statesboro, GA is seeking a Certified Medication Aide for night shifts. The role administers physician-ordered medications and performs point-of-care testing under clinical guidelines, with emphasis on insulin, epinephrine and B12 per doctor direction.

Responsibilities include ensuring proper medication storage, documentation and communication with residents, families and health care providers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified Nursing Aide in Georgia is required.
• Certified Medication Aide in Georgia is required.

Responsibilities

• Administer physician-ordered oral, ophthalmic, topical, otic, nasal, vaginal and rectal medications.
• Administer insulin, epinephrine, and B12 per physician direction and guidelines.
• Administer medications via metered dose inhaler.
• Conduct finger-stick blood glucose testing per guidelines.
• Document medication administration and/or declination following guidelines.
• Report and document any unusual reactions to medication and share with resident, family and health care provider.
• Store and dispose of medications properly.
• Provide routine patient care such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Complete dressing changes per clinical guidelines and orders; report changes to licensed nurse.
