Job summary

Norwalk Hospital Association is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist for night shifts to ensure optimal medication storage, preparation and dispensing. The role includes clinical pharmacotherapy responsibilities, IV to PO conversions, dosing adjustments, patient counseling, and supervision of pharmacy technicians in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist license in NY or CT.
• Minimum 1 year inpatient hospital experience or PGY1 Residency.
• BS of Pharmacy or PharmD required.

Responsibilities

• Medication processing and dispensing: review, interpret and verify orders for safety and accuracy; ensure timely preparation and proper labeling.
• Clinical pharmacy and drug information: maintain knowledge, retrieve and communicate drug information; monitor pharmacotherapy.
• Patient counseling: educate patients on therapy and ensure safe use; communicate with medical team.
• Oversee central pharmacy workflow: supervise technicians; prioritize daily activities; ensure compliance and productivity.
• Project management and department goals: initiate and complete projects; contribute to departmental goals; monitor clinically and regulatory aspects.
• Training and mentoring: educate and precept students, residents, and new hires.
