Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Staff Leader for the 6RW Med Surg unit on the night shift. The leader supervises a cohort of staff, supports clinical practice development, and ensures high-quality patient care while coordinating scheduling and throughput.

The role reports to Nursing leadership and drives staff coaching and performance. The position requires RN licensure, a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and at least 1 year of RN experience.

Qualifications

• 1 year RN experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• TN license or active compact license.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of their cohort and other staff as needed.
• Defines standards for quality patient care.
• Develops, manages and evaluates area based on work team performance.
• Acts as clinical leader and facilitates education for staff on clinical standards; coach subordinates and peers.
• Ensures that clinical assignments are based on patient care needs and demonstrated staff competencies.
