Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional for Ascension St. Vincent's in Jacksonville, FL. Schedule: Thu–Sun, 8:00pm–6:30am. Responsibilities include specimen acceptability, complex testing, instrument troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure accurate patient results.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a chemical/biological science or Medical Technology, at least 1 year of lab experience or an MLS, and a Florida MT license. ASCP/AMT preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• FL Medical Technologist (MT) license.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed; maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
