Job summary

Labcorp in Burlington, NC, is seeking a Technologist to join our team on a night shift (Tue–Fri, 9:00pm–7:30am). The role focuses on specimen acceptability, performing routine to complex testing per SOPs, and maintaining instrument performance to ensure accurate patient results.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science and 1+ year of clinical lab testing experience or an MLS degree. ASCP/AMT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation for proper function.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results for quality patient care.
• Perform preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies.
• Assist with processing of specimens as needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
