Job summary

SUNY Oneonta is hiring a Full-Time Cleaner to maintain safe, welcoming facilities for students, staff and visitors. This role offers a physically active day, independence in daily tasks, and supportive supervision, with opportunities to learn across campus operations.

The position requires night shifts (10:00 PM–6:30 AM), weekend/holiday work as needed, and adherence to cleaning protocols. SUNY Oneonta emphasizes growth through internal programs and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Experience with waste handling.
• Experience with basic hand tools.
• Experience working with and serving diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, and clean restrooms.
• Collect trash, move furniture, and perform minor repairs.
• Perform building and grounds tasks including snow and ice removal.
• Safely use cleaning products and equipment.
• Respond to emergency custodial requests as needed.
• Work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
