Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to wrap, sterilize, and distribute instruments.

The role requires CSPDT certification, a high school diploma, and strong attention to safety and workflow coordination within a pediatric hospital setting. Responsibilities include operating sterilizers, maintaining instrument trays, and coordinating with surgical teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Sterile Processing Technician Certification (CSPDT) required.
• Minimum of 1 year healthcare experience preferred.
• Complete in-house training within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to communicate effectively with medical staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Wraps, seals, and labels articles for identification and distribution.
• Decontaminates and cleans equipment per guidelines.
• Inspects instruments for proper condition and repairs as needed.
• Assembles and accounts for instrument trays.
• Monitors sterilizers and records indicators.
• Logs biologic and chemical indicators per policy.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment per OSHA.
