Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans is seeking a Certified Patient Care Tech (PCT) to join our bedside care team. You will work under the direction of RNs and Licensed Therapists, performing delegated patient care and documenting tasks with a patient-centered approach.

Night shift available. You will provide care like uplifting activities, monitor vital signs, assist with ADLs, and ensure safety and accuracy in the electronic medical record while collaborating with interdisciplinary team members.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of clinical care experience; CNA or PCT experience preferred.
• CPCT/A or CNA/PCT certifications recognized; CMA accepted.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform priority technical procedures and maintain a safe environment for patients.
• Provide care including basic CPR, ADLs, vital signs, phlebotomy, dressing changes, EKGs, and related tasks.
• Document patient care in the electronic medical record and coordinate with RN staff.
• Prioritize tasks based on acuity and department needs.
• Report abnormal findings to RN and seek supervision when needed.
• Delegate tasks to team members to accomplish direct patient care.
